This is a tradition with many families of southern Italy to celebrate Christmas with an elaborate fish feast. Sometimes referred to as the Feast of Seven fish, not everyone is attached to the right of seven, some up to 11 or 12, especially shellfish. Personally, because I am allergic to shellfish, I usually have a feast of fish, Red Snapper Livornesa. Since my Christmas dinner, I decided to consult with my cousin for several menu suggestions.
